Patient Care Technician InstructorThe Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course:Important: Please note that a non-credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department.Primary Responsibilities:The ability to teach 20 hours (5 evenings) per week for up to 4 hours per evening in person, which includes but not limited to the following subject areas:Personal hygiene; vital signs; activities of daily living; infection controlAnatomy & PhysiologyEKG: Performing and InterpretationPhlebotomy: Venipuncture and other sampling proceduresPatient SafetyPreparing student for industry certification as Patient Care Technician, EKG Technician and/or Phlebotomy TechnicianPsycho/Social considerations of the patientCare Planning/Interdisciplinary CareHospice CareMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentCurrent registration as a NJ Licensed Registered, a Patient Care Technician, Medical Assistant, or Certified Nursing AssistantThree (3) years of experience working in an in-patient environmentExperience in General Nursing Care, EKG, and PhlebotomyPrevious experience teaching adult learnersAbility to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth AmboyPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeExperience teaching in higher educationSupplemental Information:Please include day, evening and/or Saturday availability in your application.Please note that this is an instructor pooled position.
