The Future We Build Together.Requirements:High School diploma or equivalentVocational or Technical Certification, Post-secondary vocational education preferredOne (1) year or more combination of classroom training or work experience of mechanical repairs on heavy duty and medium duty equipment. Must have minimum tools required as outlined in Maintenance policy 2.02One (1) year or more performing advanced mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment and the ability to demonstrate proficiency with advanced diagnostics, overhaul, and repair of all vehicle components and systems preferredEffective interpersonal communication skillsAbility to:Complete and apply required technical training as assignedPass Ryder Regulated Status RequirementsDemonstrated mechanical aptitudeHighly thorough and dependable.
Work shift work and weekend as required. Perform all entry level tasksKnowledge of and ability to apply knowledge of computers (intermediate level)Non Commercial Driver License CLASS EValid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferredMust possess state license as requiredSafety Sensitive Position, Non-Regulated TechResponsibilities:Performs vehicle maintenance and repair dutiesPerforms standard vehicle maintenancePerforms standard component inspections and repairsPerforms preventive maintenanceDiagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicableIdentifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as requiredReplaces defective components as instructedPerforms facility maintenance dutiesInteracts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a taskUtilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation availableWorks in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)Performs other support duties as required to support operations.
