Job Summary
Northwell Health and the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital are seeking an AP/CP Certified Pathologist, preferably with subspeciality training in Cytopathology, GI Pathology, GU Pathology or GYN Pathology to join our team as Residency Program Director for a complement of ten total residents.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of the AP/CP Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Residency Program and organization of the educational curriculum.
- Ensure program compliance with all regulations of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
- Supervise residents and students while balancing a clinical case load on the Surgical and/or Cytopathology service.
- Organize resident curriculum (including didactic schedule), evaluate residents and faculty, create faculty development modules, and model best practices for faculty teaching.
- Organize and review all on-site and off-site rotations, create and implement program policies and procedures, and direct resident scholarly activities.
- Serve on hospital committees and perform administrative functions as required.
Qualifications
- AP/CP Certified Pathologist.
- Preferred subspecialty training in Cytopathology, GI Pathology, GU Pathology, or GYN Pathology.
- Experience with residency program direction and educational curriculum management.
