Pathologist
Jackson and Coker is seeking a highly skilled and Board Certified Pathologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Tennessee. This role involves full-time coverage, starting in September, with a focus on surgical pathology and clinical pathology duties. The successful candidate will join a medical facility and contribute to a dynamic pathology team.
Practice Info
- Approximately 35-50 surgical cases per day, including GI, GU, Gyn, Endocrine, breast, lung, soft tissue, lymph node, biopsies, and resections, with few skins, thyroids, CT guided deep biopsies, and ortho cases.
- Review of blood smears; no bone marrows or paps.
- Occasional frozens.
- PA handles grossing and cuts/stains frozens.
- No cytotechnologist; Techs prepare slides in IR.
Responsibilities
- Assist with full-time coverage needs.
- Order specials and immunos in the computer.
- Review antibody ID for blood bank.
- Perform transfusion reaction work up/evaluations.
- Conduct body fluid crystal examination.
- Review peripheral smears.

Shift & Schedule
- Monday – Friday; 8am-5pm + night call.
- Night call is typically blood bank calls; occasionally donor tissue evaluation.
Requirements
- Active Tennessee license or IMLC required.
- Board Certified required.
