Onsite Full Time Bio & Pharmacology & Health

Pathologist, Southwest Michigan ((Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is accepted) | Anatomic Pathology | Full-Time

Looking for a pathologist who wants more than a microscope and a stack of slides — this role puts you at the center of patient care, lab leadership, and clinical strategy for a well-established regional laboratory.

Full Benefits and Great Pay! Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Assistance are available.

What makes this different:

You won't just be reading cases. You'll help shape how a department runs for a highly complex CLIA-certified lab, with real influence over methods, technology adoption, and quality standards. If you've ever wanted a seat at the table instead of just a caseload, this is it.

What you'll do:

  • Interpret surgical specimens and cytopathology cases (genital and extragenital) with full diagnostic autonomy
  • Perform autopsies — general medical and forensic
  • Serve as the go-to clinical consultant for referring physicians across the region
  • Lead quality assurance, evaluate new testing methods, and drive technology adoption in your area of interest
  • Mentor techs and students, and teach in-service conferences on emerging methods and instrumentation
  • Traditional hours: 8am to 4pm, minimal on-call

What you bring:

  • MD or DO, board-eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
  • Completed an AMA-approved 4-year pathology training program
  • Meets CLIA qualifications for Laboratory Director, Technical Supervisor, and Clinical Consultant (highly complex lab)
  • Unrestricted medical license (Michigan or ability to obtain)(Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is helpful)
  • Strong communicator: you'll work across every level of the organization, from bench techs to hospital administration
  • MUST BE AP/CP BOARD CERTIFIED.

Why Southwest Michigan?:

A genuine mid-size city with big-league amenities, a strong arts and music scene, two universities (Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo College), a nationally recognized craft beer scene, and Lake Michigan's beaches about 40 minutes west. Cost of living well below the coasts, an easy commute, and a community that actually knows your name without giving up clinical complexity or leadership scope.
