Nicklas Laboratory Staffing is conducting a confidential nationwide search for a Medical Director & Chief Pathologist to lead pathology services for a well-established regional laboratory in Southwest Michigan.

This is an opportunity for an experienced pathologist to combine clinical practice, laboratory leadership, quality, and strategic influence while working closely with executive leadership and a leading Midwest health system. The Role

• Serve as Medical Director and Chief Pathologist with significant influence over laboratory operations, quality, and clinical strategy
• Partner directly with executive leadership on continued organizational growth
• Lead pathology services in affiliation with one of the Midwest's leading hospital systems
• Maintain an engaging clinical practice with approximately 14,400 surgical pathology cases annually
• Work within a highly complex, CLIA-certified laboratory
• No autopsy responsibilities

What We're Looking For

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
• Approximately 5–10 years of clinical practice experience
• Prior leadership, Medical Director, or departmental management experience preferred
• Fellowship training welcome, but not required
• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to quality
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, laboratory professionals, and executive leadership
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Michigan and Indiana
