Pathologists' Assistant - Katy, TX
Brown Pathology, a private medical practice based in the Houston area, is seeking a full-time Pathologists' Assistant to join our team at our Katy location. This is a daytime position, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant training program
- Certification: ASCP certification required
- Experience: At least one year of experience with highly complex specimens preferred; recent graduates will be considered
- Experience with Dragon voice recognition software is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform gross descriptions and complete dissections of simple and complex surgical specimens
- Provide frozen section services
- Assist with specialized procedures and projects as designated by the pathologists
- Perform tissue procurement for special studies
- Assist with conference preparation as needed
- Coordinate gross room workflows and personnel to promote efficiency
