Patent Prosecution Associate | Compensation: $225,000–$250,000

Hawkstone Search is working an established US law firm with a nationally recognized Intellectual Property practice, which is looking to add Patent Prosecution Associate with 1–3 years of experience.

This is a strong opportunity for an early-career patent attorney who wants more responsibility, closer partner exposure and genuine client contact rather than being one of many associates on a matter.

From my experience with this client, they staff its patent matters leanly, giving associates the opportunity to work closely with partners across patent strategy, drafting, prosecution and diligence while developing a broad and commercially valuable IP practice.

What’s on offer:

· $225,000–$250,000 compensation, depending on experience and qualifications

· Broad experience across patent strategy, drafting, prosecution and diligence

What you’ll be doing:

· Preparing and prosecuting US patent applications across sophisticated life sciences technologies

· Working on patent strategy, drafting, prosecution and IP diligence matters

· Working closely with partners on complex client matters and developing a broad prosecution skillset

· Advising innovative clients on their patent portfolios and protection strategies

What you need:

· 1–3 years of US patent prosecution experience, including experience as a Patent Agent or Technology Specialist

· Experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications

· Background in molecular biology, immunology, immuno-oncology, genetics and/or agricultural biotechnology would be particularly valuable

· USPTO registration or eligibility to practice before the USPTO
