Patent Litigation Associate Attorney (Mid-Level)Locations: Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Silicon Valley, CaliforniaDirect Counsel is seeking a Mid-Level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate to join the IP litigation practice of a leading Am Law firm in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Silicon Valley. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with strong patent litigation experience who is interested in handling complex intellectual property disputes in a collaborative and sophisticated practice.The role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes patent matters across multiple forums, including federal district courts, the International Trade Commission, and administrative proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in patent litigation matters involving both accused infringers and patent ownersAssist with and manage litigation in U.S. district courts, International Trade Commission (ITC) investigations, and PTAB proceedings before the U.S.

Patent and Trademark OfficeDraft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memorandaConduct legal research and case analysis to support litigation strategyParticipate in fact and expert discovery, depositions, and trial preparationWork closely with clients, experts, and technical consultants to analyze complex technologies and develop litigation strategiesCollaborate with attorneys across offices on complex intellectual property disputesQualifications3–5 years of patent litigation experienceExperience representing both patent owners and accused infringersExperience litigating before U.S. district courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and/or the USPTO's Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB)Technical background required, preferably a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related fieldUSPTO registration preferred but not requiredStrong legal research, analytical, and writing skillsExcellent communication and organizational abilitiesJ.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentialsActive admission to the California State BarCompensation & BenefitsThis position offers a competitive compensation package with a salary range of approximately $250,000–$375,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
