A law firm seeks a highly motivated Patent Attorney to join its office in Tampa, Florida. The successful candidate will work on a variety of intellectual property matters, focusing on patent protection and strategy, enforcement, and client counseling.
Duties
- Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications in mechanical engineering fields.
- Draft and review intellectual property and technology-related agreements and licenses.
- Provide patentability, freedom to operate, and due diligence assessments.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the mechanical arts.
- Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task efficiently, and think independently.
- Licensed to practice law in Florida.
Education
- Juris Doctor, higher degree, or equivalent in Law.
- Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar engineering degree and/or work experience.
Certifications
- U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration.
