Patent Associate

A respected California-based law firm with a growing intellectual property practice is seeking a Patent Associate to join its collaborative team. This attorney will work closely with experienced practitioners on a wide range of intellectual property matters for clients ranging from emerging companies to Fortune 500 organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on a broad range of intellectual property matters
  • Support intellectual property transactions and portfolio management initiatives
  • Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements
  • Counsel clients regarding patent strategy and protection
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technical professionals, and client stakeholders
  • Assist with domestic and international intellectual property matters
  • Contribute to business development and client service initiatives
Qualifications

Required

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active California Bar membership
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO
  • Minimum 3+ years of intellectual property experience
  • Experience handling sophisticated IP matters in a law firm environment
  • Strong academic credentials and legal writing skills

Preferred

  • Experience working with technology, life sciences, or innovative growth companies
  • Strong client counseling and relationship management abilities
  • Experience supporting complex intellectual property transactions
