We're partnering with a well-established, national law firm seeking an experienced Patent Agent- Electrical to join its growing Intellectual Property and Technology division in Manhattan. The Opportunity:
- Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications across a variety of technologies, including electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and software innovations.
- Manage patent portfolios and oversee applications throughout the prosecution process.
- Conduct patentability evaluations and support freedom-to-operate and IP due diligence matters.
- Collaborate directly with clients, attorneys, and international patent counsel.
- Work with clients across industries such as industrial automation, aviation, medical devices, manufacturing, telecommunications, and consumer technology.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience (7+ preferred).
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- Active USPTO registration required.
- Experience handling patent prosecution matters independently, ideally within a law firm or corporate IP department.
- Exposure to electrical, software, mechanical, or electromechanical technologies.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
