Job OverviewA law firm seeks an experienced Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property and Technology Division in Phoenix, AZ. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, providing patentability assessments, and assisting with freedom to operate and due diligence assessments. Duties
* Draft and globally prosecute patent applications.
* Coordinate with foreign law firms for filing foreign patent applications.
* Maintain client patent portfolio and manage deadlines.
* Collaborate with clients for processing and legalization of documents.
* Review country requirements and obtain Foreign Filing License as needed.
* Delegate tasks effectively to Paralegals or Legal Administrative Assistants.
Requirements
* Minimum 5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
* Experience managing patent prosecution docket.
* Ability to collaborate with partners and legal staff.
* Law firm or in-house IP experience.
Education Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar field. Certifications U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration. Skills Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Benefits
