Junior Associate for Boutique Disability Law Firm

Job Responsibilities

Expected tasks include handling new client meetings, analyzing cases for strengths and weaknesses, drafting briefs on behalf of clients for the Social Security Administration, representing clients by appearing in 10-20 hearings per month before the Social Security Administration, drafting Appeals Council briefs, collaborating with legal assistants, case managers and other staff to gain a full appreciation of the client’s case, participating in discussions and mock oral arguments to prepare for court.

Job Requirements

Bar admission in any state is required. Social Security experience preferred, but will consider an inexperienced candidate who demonstrates the following:

• Demonstrated interest in helping others
• Ability to quickly learn a new area of law
• Receptive to training and coaching; ability to implement feedback quickly
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and desire to work with a team on a regular basis
• Excellent legal writing, analysis and oral advocacy skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
