Our client, being a long-established & highly regarded AM200 law firm with offices in New York and Washington D.C., are looking to welcome a Real Estate Partner to succession plan for their future leadership team.

The Real Estate Group is a full-service platform with a distinctly institutional flavour , acting for major banks, investment funds, pension funds, developers, and private equity sponsors across all phases of the asset lifecycle.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead transactional real estate matters including acquisitions, dispositions, and the full deal lifecycle across office, retail, industrial, multifamily, and hospitality asset types
• Advise clients on joint venture structuring, including capital funding mechanisms, management arrangements, exit strategies, and ERISA and tax structuring
• Represent borrowers and lenders in real estate financings including first mortgage, mezzanine, construction, subscription, and revolving credit facilities
• Counsel sponsors and investors on the formation of and investment in real estate private equity funds, including securities, tax, regulatory, and ERISA considerations
• Engage with firm leadership on the long-term strategic direction of the real estate practice, with a view to assuming the Chair role

What they need:

• J.D. (2017 & earlier) with significant transactional real estate experience gained at a reputable firm, ideally with AM200 or comparable pedigree
• A demonstrated track record of leading complex real estate transactions for institutional or sophisticated clients
• Strong technical skills across acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, and real estate finance; fund formation experience advantageous
• An established client base or clear evidence of business development capacity and appetite
• Genuine ambition to grow within the firm and, in time, take on the Chair of Real Estate role
