Partner/Lead Partner - General Liability

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an accomplished Partner-level Attorney to lead and grow a General Liability team in Short Hills, New Jersey. This role offers a unique opportunity for a high-performing litigator to manage a practice unit, drive business growth, and build a team within a supportive infrastructure.

Duties

• Lead and manage a General Liability practice unit, overseeing caseload distribution and team performance.


• Handle complex General Liability matters from inception through resolution, including depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.


• Develop and execute case strategies while maintaining and growing a book of business.


• Collaborate with practice group leaders to align goals with broader firm strategy.


• Partner with the Business Development and Marketing team to service existing clients and pursue new opportunities.


• Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey and in good standing with the New Jersey Bar.


• 6+ years of experience in General Liability litigation with Partner-level responsibility.


• Established or developing book of business with a drive to expand client relationships.


• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


• Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of high performance in litigation.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the New Jersey Bar.
