This leader will ensure a16z operates with accurate financial data, disciplined financial processes, scalable systems, and clear visibility into performance across the management company and related entities.This role will lead corporate accounting operations, payroll, accounts payable, expense accounting, treasury and cash management, firmwide financial consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. The Corporate Controller will partner closely with Fund Finance, Tax, HR, Legal, IT, vertical leadership, and firm leadership to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, actionable, and built on repeatable processes.The successful candidate will be a strong accounting operator with experience leading finance teams in a complex investment management, asset management, private equity, venture capital, or similarly multi-entity environment.
While technical accounting expertise is helpful, this role is primarily focused on operational excellence, financial discipline, systems architecture, process modernization, and team leadership.Given a16z’s scale, global operations, multinational entity structure, and continued growth, this leader will build and continuously improve the infrastructure required to support the firm’s next stage.
