Part Time - Veterinary Technology InstructorThe Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.

The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employee's responsibility.Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee's first day on the job.Job DescriptionThe person selected will be expected to:Organize and teach assigned lectures and laboratory courses in the veterinary technology curriculum offered at Yuba CollegePrepare students to become eligible to take national board examinations and work as practicing Registered Veterinary TechniciansPrepare and complete course syllabi and outlinesFacilitate student learning by working to develop every student's ability and by designing varied and motivating learning environments, which may include distance learningWork with other related departments if necessaryRequired QualificationsThe successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for an AVMA-accredited school:Be a registered veterinary technician in the state of California.
The registration shall be current, valid, and free from restrictions due to disciplinary action by the California Veterinary Medical Board or any other health care regulatory agencyAn associate's or higher degree in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited educational institutionTraining, certification, or experience in teaching the subject matter of the course; orAt least four years' experience in an area related to the subject matter of the courseDesired/Preferred QualificationsPrevious teaching, employment, or student experiences that provide the candidate with the ability to successfully teach veterinary technology Understanding of the needs of a diverse student population as they relate to the mission of the Yuba Community College District Knowledge and/or experience in related disciplines such as biochemistry, biology, agriculture, animal science, or chemistry Experience supervising and/or working with a diverse student population Background in the use of computers or technology in the classroom/laboratory. Previous teaching experience utilizing distributive education (interactive television, online, etc.).
