Job Description and Position Requirements
The Rovniak Lab at the Penn State College of Medicine within the Department of Medicine, Hershey, PA, is seeking several part‑time research assistants for a large randomized controlled trial with over 1,400 participants. The trial focuses on engaging older adults with osteoarthritis in no‑cost exercise opportunities nationwide and is funded by the Patient‑Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). The position can be performed locally or remotely.
Responsibilities
- Screen older adults by phone to ensure eligibility for the study.
- Explain study procedures via video conferencing or phone to participants.
- Follow a scripted intervention protocol with diverse participants.
- Attend study team meetings to ensure ongoing quality control.
- Maintain records of screening and phone activities.
- Send emails to participants for various project‑related administrative matters.
- Assist with measurement quality control.
- Provide support for other project‑related activities.

- Interest in physical activity or health promotion research, with some prior research or related experience.
- Detail‑oriented and precise.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
