Part Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Fee For Service

Thriving Works is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to serve clients in Roanoke, VA. This fee‑for‑service (W‑2) position offers a salary range of $65,000 to $94,000 per year based on 15–20 clinical hours per week.

Our practice is built on telemedicine with a commitment to safety. Stimulant medications are offered only as an option based on individual patient symptoms and diagnosis, and prescribing decisions are purely clinician‑driven. We do not treat substance use disorders; patients requiring in‑person treatment are referred to appropriate providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations via in‑person and telemedicine visits.
• Provide care to adults and adolescents, including clients aged 14 and older.
• Prescribe medication to reduce mental health symptoms, as appropriate.
• Collaborate with clients on individualized care plans.
• Complete necessary paperwork and assessment tools for clients.
• Adhere to Thriveworks Clinical Practice Guidelines.
• Consult with Regional Clinic Directors and staff on client programs and services.

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with board certification.
• Master’s in Nursing with active prescriptive authority in the state.
• Understanding of AdvancedMD (AMD) EMR is a plus.
• Minimum one year of psychiatry practice; three years of experience is preferred.
• Completed in‑house training on ADHD treatment standards, guidelines, and approach (certification exam required).
• Licensed and resident in the state where practice occurs.
