Part-Time Paraprofessional
Required Qualifications:
- Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Successful experience working with elementary aged students.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of content expectations/standards pertinent to the grade level.
- Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
- Can demonstrate proficiency in working with students with a variety of disabilities.
- No health restrictions, able to work with students with physical and/or behavior components of their disability.
A successful candidate will be able to:
- Relate to and instruct children in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
- Develop and use strategies to improve student achievement in all core content areas.
- Effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.

- Work with students with a range of special needs.
- Assist students with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, mobility, health care, and other medically related supports as permitted by law and district procedures
- Implement instructional activities and accommodations as directed by the classroom teacher
- Collect, record, and maintain student data to monitor progress toward instructional and behavioral goals
- Implement and support behavior intervention plans under the direction of certified staff
- Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and transitions
- Maintain confidentiality of all student, family, and staff information in accordance with district policy and applicable laws
- Participate in ongoing professional learning and required training to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Salary and benefits: Starting pay is $15 per hour under the HASEL agreement, with scheduled increases based on service. Additional compensation includes $0.50 per hour for an applicable associate degree, higher degree, or substitute-teacher certification, and $0.75 per hour for qualifying assignments. This position is eligible for public school retirement. After the 180-day probationary period, benefits include paid sick leave, two personal days, paid holidays, group life and long-term disability insurance for eligible employees working at least 30 hours per week.
