Part-Time Traveling Optometrist (OD) – New Mexico

Comprehensive Mobile Care (CMC) is seeking a Part‑Time Optometrist (OD) to deliver high‑quality vision care across multiple New Mexico communities. This clinic‑based role functions as an extension of established outpatient teams serving senior populations.

You’ll work the same schedule as full‑time staff and will not handle any billing or administrative responsibilities.

Travel

• Comfortable driving up to 4 hours to assigned clinic locations:
• Santa Fe
• Farmington
• Gallup
• Las Cruces
• Roswell

The Setting

• Community‑based outpatient clinic model
• Full‑time clinic staff on site
• Organized scheduling and patient flow
• Co‑ordinated, team‑based care environment
• Value‑based model focused on seniors
• CMC manages equipment, supplies, scheduling and billing

What You’ll Do

• Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments
• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions within your scope
• Prescribe corrective lenses and provide treatment recommendations
• Collaborate with clinic staff as part of an integrated care team
• Deliver patient‑centered care in a structured outpatient setting

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
• Experience with senior populations preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Comfortable practicing in outpatient clinic environments
• Willingness to travel up to 4 hours to assigned clinics

Schedule

• 2–6 weekdays per month (Wednesday–Friday)
• Typical hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• No nights
