Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (2–3 Days per Week)

The Weight Loss Center of Chattanooga is immediately seeking a compassionate, motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our growing practice on a part‑time basis (2–3 days per week) with potential for growth to full time. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who is passionate about helping patients achieve lasting health through evidence‑based obesity medicine in a collaborative, patient‑centered environment.

Position Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will manage patients receiving medical treatment for obesity and related conditions while working alongside experienced supervising providers and a multidisciplinary team (dietitian and psychological support). You will play an integral role in developing individualized treatment plans, guiding patients through medication options, and supporting sustainable lifestyle changes that lead to long‑term success.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients receiving medical weight loss treatment.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence‑based obesity medicine.
  • Educate and counsel patients on nutrition, physical activity, behavior modification, and long‑term lifestyle changes.
  • Guide patients through medication options, including benefits, risks, and insurance coverage considerations.
  • Collaborate closely with supervising providers, dietitians, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Assist with obtaining prior authorizations and navigating insurance requirements for weight loss medications and treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide compassionate, personalized care that encourages and motivates patients throughout their weight loss journey.
  • Stay current with advances in obesity medicine by completing continuing medical education (CME) and pursuing ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in Tennessee with prescriptive authority required; preferred secondary NP licensure in Georgia.
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Compassionate, personable, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to learn and remain current in the rapidly evolving field of obesity medicine through continuing education.
  • Experience with obesity medicine, endocrinology, primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine is preferred but not required.
