Primary Purpose of Position

The developing Physician Assistant (PA) Program at North Carolina A&T State University seeks three (3) Part‑Time Instructors to teach, advise, assess, and perform other delegated responsibilities. This temporary position reports to the Program Director and is focused on student‑centered teaching of master’s‑level PA students, student advising/mentoring, curriculum development, and program assessment/accreditation activities.

Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities

  • Support didactic and clinical year curriculum and assessment tools.
  • Facilitate data‑driven curriculum change and support student learning activities to meet academic competency standards.
  • Coordinate assessment and evaluation processes, ensuring timely feedback and action plans.
  • Assist with student orientation, maintain policies and procedures for pre‑clinical and clinical years, and record student performance and competency attainment.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), REDCap, Basecamp, Box, Exam Soft, Exxat, and ARC‑PA standards.
  • Participate in admissions (file review, interview, student selection) and attend monthly faculty and curriculum meetings, program retreats, and all program events such as Orientation, White Coat Ceremony, Graduation, and alumni events.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure accurate program reporting and perform other duties as delegated.
  • Model professional and ethical behavior.
  • Develop and revise curriculum, syllabi, and assessments; manage the Learning Management System course shell; facilitate small‑group instruction; schedule office hours.
  • Stay current with field developments, publish research, secure grant funding, and engage with professional organizations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare community members to improve programs and expand learning opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree (Doctorate preferred).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High degree of organizational, planning, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and assess competitive applicants.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated program planning and management experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • PhD, EdD, DHSc, or other professional doctorate with a record of research.
  • Experience in higher education and clinical practice (5+ years each).
  • Graduate of an accredited PA program and eligible for PA licensure in North Carolina.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
