Part‑time Hospitalist – UNC Health Johnston, Smithfield, NC

We are seeking a Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) Internal Medicine physician to join our Hospital Medicine program that serves patients in Smithfield and Clayton, NC. The role provides team‑based care, quality bonuses, CME support, a retirement plan, and malpractice coverage.

Schedule

7 am – 7 pm (2–3 shifts biweekly)

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy program
• Internal Medicine Residency preferred
• BC or BE in Internal Medicine
• New trainee welcomed

Education

• Board Certification requirements met; graduation from an accredited medical school

Licensure / Certification

• Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• North Carolina Medical License
• DEA license
• BLS / ACLS certification (preferred)

Professional Experience

• Prefer prior hospitalist experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Proficient in English communication
• High‑level quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills to diagnose medical and clinical issues

Physical Demands
