nThe Home Health Aide responsibilities and duties:
nPerforms personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to):
nPersonal hygiene (assisting with bathroom or in using a bedpan, bathing, care of mouth, shaving, skin, and hair)
nAmbulation/Transfers
nEating
nDressing/Shaving
nPrepares meals and snacks according to instructions
nAccompany the patient on errands or medical appointments.
nPerforms housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning bathrooms
nThe Home Health Aide performs patient-specific activities that are taught by a Right at Home nurse. These could include (but are not limited to):
nMedication reminders
nAssisting with the prescribed range of motion exercises
nMeasuring and preparing special diets
nUnderstanding dementia care
nIncontinence care
nQualifications and Skills for Home Health Aide:
nHigh school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
nThree years of experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare preferred (in homes or facilities).
nAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
nPossess a valid driver’s license and insured automobile or reliable transportation to shifts.
