Adjunct/Part-time Faculty PositionThe Montgomery College Department of Engineering, Physical, and Computer Sciences is currently accepting applications for openings as a part-time faculty member teaching Electrical Engineering courses. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. This position can teach at any of our three campuses – Germantown, Rockville, or Takoma Park/Silver Spring.Duties include but are not limited to:Teach freshman and sophomore-level Electrical Engineering coursesConduct assigned classes in accordance with the catalog description, the course syllabi, and the stipulations of the College.Be available for student consultation and discussions with program faculty.Participate, when possible, in departmental meetings.Hold every scheduled class, including the final examination, the full scheduled number of minutes during the scheduled time in the scheduled location.Maintain standards of teaching consistent with the standards of the department and the College.Submit a copy of the syllabi, along with the course materials, to the department.Submit midterm and final grades on time.Return final exams to the department.Required qualifications:Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field or discipline.Experience programming in C, C++, Python.Experience with embedded systems.Proficient in different operating system environments (Unix, Windows, Linux).Strong communication skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills including proficient use of MS-office suite of software.A demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to the College’s strategic plan of inclusion.Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus).

Subject to available funds, the college may be able to provide temporary access to resources.Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.Preferred qualifications:Minimum of one semester of teaching experience (Graduate school teaching assistance is acceptable). Recent experience preferred (within last 5 years)Demonstrated excellence in classroom instruction using a variety of teaching methods.Use of technology in instruction.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Experience in working with students of diverse backgrounds.Understanding of and commitment to the community college mission.Experience in distance delivery and other instructional methods.Ability to teach daytime in-person, specifically Monday and Wednesday mornings at the Rockville campus.For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
