It is an on-demand role, paid hourly when client engagements that fit your skills arise.
Candidates who may find this a great opportunity include:Individuals with their own solo-practitioner consultancy (or other small business) who may welcome additional engagement opportunities to supplement their own endeavors and incomeSemi-retired individuals, or people on sabbatical, who want to keep their skills sharp, but who are not seeking full time work and who welcome breaks between engagementsIndividuals who seek part time work to stay engaged in the workforce on a variable basis, while maintaining flexibilityAdvisors are always empowered to turn down engagements if for whatever reason the work, the timing, or other factor doesn't appeal to them. They'll be kept in mind for the next suitable opportunity that arises.Advisors go through the same interviewing process for skills, experience, and cultural fit as full-time consultants. It is critical to Spinnaker that this is a good two-way fit. In fact, some Advisors have transitioned into full time Consultant roles, while some Consultants have transitioned into Advisor roles.
If the idea of flexible work appeals to you, keep reading!As an Advisor at Spinnaker Consulting Group, you will apply your skills and experience to help clients solve complex business problems and achieve their objectives.Your RoleCollaborate with our clients to refine their problem statements, develop future-state solutions, and implement impactful solutionsEngage with Client Team Members and proactively identify opportunities to help solve client challenges, adding value and driving collaborationLeverage your project management and technical expertise to execute on tactical client engagement workIndependently overcome obstacles/impediments and provide solutions/adviceUse relationship management and delegation skills to effectively drive work through othersProvide timely updates to ensure deliverables and the engagement are on track, highlighting delays or impediments immediately when they are identified, following the day-to-day direction of the Team LeadRequirementsYour ExperiencePlease note that we have opportunities for advisors with a wide range of experience and seniority levels.You have professional experience including:You have seven to ninety seven years' professional experience in risk management or regulatory compliance in the Banking and Financial Services IndustryYou have experience working in either or both first line business risk and control organizations as well as second line risk oversight organizations, having developed a solid understanding of various facets of risk and compliance programs and objectivesYou understand internal control practices, risk management frameworks, and methodologiesYou have experience with process mapping and optimization, process risk & control assessment, and/or control design and evaluationYou are a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP) or are actively working towards certificationRegulator experience (CFPB, OCC, FDIC) is also highly desiredYou are able to navigate sometimes ambiguous and unstructured problem setsYou have demonstrated ability to influence client decision makers and drive results through a team effortYou have developed problem frameworks, hypotheses, conducted test and analysis to drive solution developmentYou have experience supporting the design, implementation, and/or testing of risk and compliance management elementsYou have strong research, organizational, analytical, problem resolution skillsYou are experienced in project delivery and communicating effectively, both verbally and written to a wide audienceYou are self-directed, accountable, creative, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, client facing environment with a potential travel componentYou have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in a related discipline and strive to expand your technical knowledgeYour ColleaguesEach member of our leadership team has over 20 years of experience running and managing businesses in addition to critical job specific competencies.
