Part-time Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager or Controller-level consultant to support their accounting team on a long-term engagement expected to last up to one year.

This is a part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week) and requires being onsite in Golden, CO. The schedule can be flexible, but the ideal candidate enjoys staying engaged in the day-to-day accounting function while providing experienced support to leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Support month-end close activities
• Review journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with general ledger and financial reporting activities
• Partner with accounting leadership on special projects and process improvements
• Help manage workload, backlog, and ad hoc accounting initiatives
• Provide hands-on accounting support in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Previous experience as an Accounting Manager, Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar accounting leadership role
• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting
• Experience working within larger organizations and complex ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Workday, or similar)
• Manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required
• Exposure to process improvement, reporting automation, Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, or other workflow tools is a plus, but not required

Ideal Candidate: We're primarily looking for a strong accounting professional who enjoys hands-on work and can quickly contribute. Experience with automation and workflow tools would be beneficial, but it is not a requirement. The ability to operate effectively within a larger-company environment and navigate enterprise ERP systems is more important.
