Part-Time Accountant

Part-Time AccountantOur client's Nashville office is passively seeking a strong part-time accountant to provide professional accounting support, financial reporting oversight, and GAAP-based general ledger review. This role is well suited for a degreed accounting professional, experienced staff accountant, or senior accountant who is looking for meaningful part-time work with flexibility. The accountant will support the local office by owning or assisting with financial statement preparation and review, accrual-based accounting, accounting analysis, and project-related reporting.

This person should be comfortable working independently, communicating with internal stakeholders, and applying sound judgment to accounting and financial reporting matters.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and related reporting packages.Support GAAP accrual-based general ledger accounting, including review of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account activity.Review financial results and help identify trends, variances, or unusual activity.Support budgeting, forecasting, and project analytics as needed.Coordinate with centralized accounting resources when needed to resolve accounting or reporting questions.Provide accounting insight and support to local leadership.Assist with process improvement, documentation, and special projects.Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and strong attention to detail in all accounting matters.Ideal Candidate ProfileBachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.Prior experience in professional accounting, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, or controllership support.Strong understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP-based financial reporting.Ability to work independently in a part-time, mostly remote environment.Strong Excel, analytical, and communication skills.Reliable, detail-oriented, professional, and able to exercise good judgment.Prior experience in a small office, professional services, financial services, or decentralized accounting environment would be helpful.
