Job Title

Education and Experience

• Ohio Educational Aide Permit required

• Must meet federal and state highly qualified standards through one of the following:

- 48 semester hours (72 quarter hours) from an accredited institution of higher education, or - Associates Degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education, or - Score of 456 or higher on the Educational Testing Service Praxis Parapro Assessment

• Minimum of two years experience working with youth and/or individuals with disabilities and a High School Diploma with an equivalent of 10 semester hours of post high school training in education, child care, nurses training and/or other related fields

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent

• Proficient score on a district identified pretest established for the position

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong writing, grammar, reading, and basic math skills

• Ability to assist with academic work ranging from kindergarten to high school level

• Proficient technology skills in basic MS Office and internet usage

• Adheres to strict confidentiality standards

• Ability to lift 80 pounds to assist students with mobility, change diapers, toilet, etc.

• Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with staff, students, parents and the public

• Good organizational skills

• Proficient score on a district identified pretest established for the position

• Demonstrates reliability, timeliness and good attendance.

• Understanding of free appropriate education as it relates to the least restrictive environment

• Demonstration of and commitment to the Washington Local School District's Portrait of a Panther Competencies: Empathy, Communication, Adaptability, Critical Thinking, Integrity, and Learner's Mindset
