Paraprofessional Substitutes Needed

Minnetonka Schools needs paraprofessional substitutes to work in our elementary Spanish immersion classrooms. We are accepting applications for the school year . These substitute opportunities would be for any of the four elementary buildings that offer Spanish immersion: Clear Springs, Deephaven, Groveland, and Minnewashta. The substitute hourly rate is $18.50 per hour. Not medical or dental benefit eligible. We are actively reviewing applications as they are submitted.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides instructional support by working with small groups and individual students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Supervises students during recess and the teacher's lunch break and prep period.
• Assists the licensed teacher in classroom management.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated language proficiency in both Spanish and English.
• Experience in working with school age children.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
• Demonstrated ability to respect, protect, and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to follow through on a project.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, punctuality, and efficiency.
• Evidence of the ability and inclination to take charge of student behavior as circumstances suggest.
• Evidence of the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must meet highly qualified status, as defined by the MDE to be considered for Special Education Paraprofessional Substitute role.
• Evidence of excellent human relations and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
