PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Helps or carry out lesson plans, modify instructional materials based upon the directions provided by the vocational, special education, or general education teacher.
  2. Uses strategies, equipment, materials, and technologies, as directed by accommodation plans to accomplish instructional objectives.
  3. Assists in adapting and implementing instructional strategies and materials as directed by the Individualized Educational Plan.
  4. Uses strategies as directed to facilitate effective integration into various settings.
  5. Uses strategies that promote the learner's independence, as directed.
  6. Follows instructions of vocational teacher, special education teacher, general education teacher, and administrators and supervisors.
  7. Acts as a role model for individuals with learning disabilities.
  8. Demonstrates commitment to assisting learners in achieving their highest potential.
  9. Demonstrates proficiency in the vocational skills associated with the career area.
  10. Has working knowledge of ethical practices for confidential communication about individuals with exceptional learning needs.
  11. Keeps documented records of successful strategies and milestones to be shared with vocational education teacher.
  12. All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Minimum of an Associates' degree or High School diploma and relevant industry experience.
  2. Prior experience as a teacher or paraprofessional, strongly preferred.
  3. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, a genuine interest in working with young people in a rich multicultural environment.
  4. Ability to adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced setting.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
  6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:
High School Principal or Designee
EVALUATION:
The High School Principal or Designee will evaluate the performance of this position.
