Paraprofessional (Middle School)
Qualifications:
The candidate must hold an Educator License with Stipulations (ELS): Endorsed as a Paraprofessional Educator (PARA).

• Completed at least 60 Semester Hours of Credit from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. (Excluding remedial coursework ).
• Paraprofessional experience from Pre-K through Age 21 preferred.

Requirements include:

• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, students' parents and community
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Under the direction of the Middle School Principal, collaborate with staff members to provide academic assistance to students.
• Demonstrated ability to implement varied classroom instructional strategies
• Educational vision for and experience with low-income and /or minority students

Assist students make academic progress by:

• Clarifying learning programs
• Working on study skills
• Reviewing class materials
• Discussing text material
• Helping students work out problems
• Promoting independent learning and self-reliance
• Document student performance and progress in collaboration with classroom Teacher
• Document daily student attendance
• Monitor student behavior
• Meet regularly with other staff members and classroom teachers to coordinate interdisciplinary programs and activities
• Other duties as assigned
