Paraprofessional - Part Time

Description:
Paraprofessional Part-Time (Hours: 9:25am-3:00pm)
Responsibilities:
1. Assists the pupil(s) and teacher in all personal care tasks and needs, including but not limited to, grooming, toileting, diapering, lifting, carrying of articles and materials, feeding, assisting and supervising the child in movement throughout the school, assisting with arrival dismissal and transportation needs, contacts to parent(s) or legal guardian(s), teachers and therapists.
2. Follows the direction of the teachers to reinforce educational skills of the student(s).
3. Encourages and helps the children to gain organization and independence.
4. Conforms and compiles to any special needs as are identified in any educational plan for the student(s).
5. Remains with the student throughout the school day for all classes, trips and schedules, unless otherwise directed.
6. Keeps the primary designated instructor informed of all needs of the student(s).
7. Follows any specific directions or tasks as assigned by the Superintendent/Principal/Assistant Principal.
8. Working primarily with special education student(s) in the ABA classroom.
Qualifications: Candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education;
2. Obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or
3. Meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness).
