Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Paraprofessional to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a preschool-aged child within a structured school environment. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working closely with children and making a meaningful difference in a student's daily educational experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 classroom support and supervision
- Shadow and assist the child throughout the school day
- Accompany the child to therapy sessions (physical, occupational, speech)
- Respond appropriately to medical situations or emergencies if they arise
- Perform paraprofessional duties as directed by the supervisor and program staff
- Support the child's safety, engagement, and overall well-being
Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma
- Minimum 3–6 months of paraprofessional experience preferred
- Training in the use of an Epi-Pen
- Willingness and ability to work with medically fragile children
- Must be fingerprinted, or willing to be fingerprinted, by the Board of Education (fees paid by candidate)
- Mandated Reporter Certification required
- Completion of SCR Form
- Recent Quantiferon TB Test
- Pre-employment Physical Exam
- Titer Tests / Proof of Immunization: MMR, TDAP, Varicella
