Support Staff Position
Title: Paraprofessional
Qualifications: 60 college credit hours or substitute certificate and good human relations skills
Reports to: Director of Special Services, Principal, and Teacher
Job Goal: To assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in special education.
Performance Indicators:
- Assists teacher in maintaining classroom organization, managing students, preparing teaching materials, reinforcing previously taught concepts as prescribed by the teacher, implementing policies, rules, and/or regulations.
- Adheres to district policies and departmental, building, and classroom procedures.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students.
- Maintains confidentiality of information about students.
- Performs clerical responsibilities as assigned by teacher.
- Assists assigned student and/or classroom as designated.
- Works assigned hours and in assigned buildings as determined by needs of the district.
- Physically be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Other duties, not specifically mentioned above, may be assigned by teacher, Director of Special Services, or Building Principal.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work year to be established by Board Policy
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy
