Paraprofessional - Moderate/Severe Special Education (One-on-One)

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Expected 40 hours/week (8 hours per day, student session days)
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one paraprofessional support to high school students with moderate to severe special education needs
  • Assist students in academic, behavioral, and daily living skill development within the classroom setting
  • Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) under the direction of the supervising teacher
  • Maintain a safe and structured environment, applying Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) techniques as needed
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to monitor and document student progress
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Associate's degree, 60 college credits, or successful completion of an approved Paraprofessional exam required
  • Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card required
  • CPR certification from an accredited agency required (in-person certification only; online training is not acceptable)
  • First Aid certification from an accredited agency required (in-person certification only; online training is not acceptable)
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification required (may be obtained following the start of the assignment)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience working with students with moderate to severe special education needs
  • Experience in a high school or secondary education setting
  • Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies and IEP implementation
