Paraprofessional
Reports to: Under the daily supervision of the Building Principal, Assistant Principal and/or Director of Student Services
Conditions of employment: Educational year: On school days when students are present 7.0 hrs. per day 2 personal days 11 sick days Participation in the IMRF pension plan Compensation and benefits package per contractual agreement
Qualifications: Paraprofessional license Strong interpersonal communication skills Respect confidentiality Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in human relations
Responsibilities: Assist with instruction and helping of individual student with special needs, or in small groups, as needed Assist and support teachers to organize learning experiences for student(s) Supervision of students during lunch, hallway and bathroom time Under teacher direction and guidance, assist in assessing student needs and progress Attend meetings as scheduled Attend offerings for professional growth Adhere to the district's expectations with regards to attendance and punctuality Promote a positive relationship with students, staff and community Help maintain an attractive and inviting classroom environment Perform any task or responsibilities which may be directed by the Teacher, Building Principal, or Student Services Director
