Signal Hill: Makerspace Paraprofessional
A vacancy exists at Signal Hill Elementary School for a paraprofessional to lead the Makerspace program. The Makerspace program focuses on hands-on, learning and inquiry-based activities with students during their lunch periods.
We are seeking a flexible, motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills to lead the Makerspace program, which incorporates STEAM-based learning activities aligned to grade-level instruction.
The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm and creativity to create a safe and inspiring environment where students can explore, experiment, and develop problem-solving skills through hands-on activities.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

• Design and deliver engaging, project-based learning experiences for students in grades K-5.
• Ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for students.
• Maintain a schedule for which classes will attend Makerspace.
• Communicate with lunch monitors to oversee which children will visit Makerspace during their recess time.
• Other tasks as needed by building administration (flexibility required).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with elementary-age students in some capacity.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• A passion for hands-on learning.

Hours are from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Starting Salary Step 1: $19.41
