Lunch/Recess Paraprofessional Position
Available position at Smith Elementary, 3.0 hours per day (10:30 am -1:30 pm) Pay rate: per SMESPA contract date(s): 26-27 school year.
Minimum requirements/qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Demonstrated aptitude and competency in interacting with students and adults
- Ability to work successfully with minimal direct supervision
Responsibilities:
- Provide active, attentive, and engaged supervision of students during lunch and recess.
- Monitor the cafeteria, playground, and surrounding areas to promote a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment.
- Model and reinforce appropriate behaviors, including respectful communication, good manners, sharing, taking turns, following directions, and using equipment appropriately.
- Maintain awareness of all students and surroundings at all times.
- Assist with transitions to and from lunch and recess.
- Communicate significant concerns, injuries, behavioral issues, or incidents to appropriate school staff.
- Other duties as assigned
