Paraprofessional for Special Education
Help meet instructional needs of individual students inside and outside the classroom. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Assist in providing students with social and life skills in and out of the classroom setting. Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher.
High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate (SBEC) and Paraprofessional training which meet qualities for federal ESSA requirements or ability to obtain
Fingerprinting Completed before first day of work
Ability to work with children with special needs
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of general office equipment
Ability to lift students in need
Salary: Commensurate with experience/qualifications
