Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Acts as a liaison for parents and school staff Assists instructional personnel with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises Tutors students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activity Maintains discipline in a positive manner Utilizes a variety of resources to engage students Handles clerical functions related to job responsibilities Assists in administering pre and post-testing of preschool assessments Helps students master instructional equipment or instructional materials as designed by the program Attends assigned professional development and implements new practices successfully Attends meetings which promote home/school relationships Well organized and takes initiative Responsible, strong work ethic, flexible Maintains satisfactory attendance Enjoys working with children of all ages Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum Requirement: High school diploma AND: Must be highly qualified by meeting one of the criteria listed below: Two years of college experience (transcripts required) Two-year college degree Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential Pass the ParaPathways Assessments within the first year of employment One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment experience in a school or working with children Passed annual school-level evaluations Completed LEA required professional development modules/training
