High School Accompanist (Pianist)

The High School Accompanist provides piano accompaniment for choir rehearsals, performances, concerts, festivals, and other assigned events. The accompanist works collaboratively with the music teacher to support student musical growth and successful performances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide piano accompaniment for high school rehearsals.
• Accompany performances, concerts, festivals, and other school events as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with the music teacher to prepare music for rehearsals and performances.
• Practice assigned music in advance to ensure quality performances.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality for rehearsals and performances.
• Foster a positive, professional, and supportive environment for students.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the music teacher or Principal.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proficiency in piano performance and sight-reading.
• Ability to accompany vocal ensembles effectively.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience accompanying school or community choirs.
• Experience working with high school students.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and play the piano for extended periods.
• Ability to attend rehearsals and performances, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed primarily in a school music classroom, auditorium, and other performance venues.
• Some evening and weekend performances are required.
