Summary and relationship to the curriculum: All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the District’s mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Conducts whole group, small group or individual classroom activities in accordance with specific program requirements.
  • Helps with all aspects of the daily routine.
  • Assists with supervision of students.
  • Follows direction of the supervising teacher.
  • Assists with student assessment, grading work and tests, and collecting data on student progress.
  • Assists with routine record keeping.
  • Assists with the preparation of materials for instruction.
  • Assists with classroom housekeeping.
  • Assists students with daily activities and school functions.
  • Assists in ordering and inventorying classroom equipment and materials.
  • Assists with school-wide supervision.
  • Participates in Professional Learning.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

  • Education and/or Experience: Education level must be within accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
  • Certificate or License Required: Certification as required by the Professional Standards Commission.
  • Language Skills: Must have ability to read and comprehend job specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position specific manuals. Must have ability to write correspondence and reports. Must have ability to effectively articulate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Mathematical Skills: Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Must have ability to conduct position related data analysis. Must have ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Must be able to facilitate the problem solving processes. Must have ability to synthesize workable options from given facts, and assist in the development of workable solutions.
  • Technical Ability: Must have considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job specified technologies.
  • Customer Service Skills: Must be able to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, students using tactful yet effective skills. Must collaborate well with others and display a cooperative attitude. Must be service oriented and actively seek ways to assist others.

    • Professional Requirements: Must serve as a role model to students. Appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards required.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and lift. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must be able to exert or lift up to 50-75 pounds.

    Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Frequent travel involves exposure to traffic and outdoor elements.

    Travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations is required.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently working in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
