Paraprofessional Position
The Paraprofessional will effectively assist students in our Reaching Higher Afterschool Program. Program begins in September and runs the entire school year until May. This is a part-time position working a maximum of 10 hours weekly. Program runs Monday-Thursday. The position is located at Attwood New Tech Magnet School - Lansing, MI 48911 - Working with students in Grades 4-7.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
• High school diploma/GED.
• Demonstrated knowledge of youth.
• At least 2 years experience working with youth in a structured program setting.
• Shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Engage and assist students during academic enrichment activities.
• Assist youth with homework and provide support for individualized tutoring.
• Manage students in a safe and productive way.
• Conduct yourself in a manner to serve as a mentor and role model.
• Cultivates positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff.
• Attends all mandatory meetings and completes all paperwork as required.
• Participates in 18 hours of professional development per year that meets licensing requirements.
• Performs duties in a manner that ensures compliance with Child Day Care Licensing rules and regulations.
• Ensures program operates in a way that follows industry quality standards and in accordance with the grant.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
