JOB DESCRIPTION:
The 1:1 Student Aide/Paraprofessional provides individualized support to a student with disabilities to promote safety, access to instruction, and participation in school activities. The aide works under the direction of the classroom teacher and special education team to implement instructional, behavioral, and support plans outlined in the student's IEP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide continuous, individualized support to an assigned student

• Implement and collect data for behavior plans, as applicable

• Reinforce academic, social, and functional skills taught by teachers and therapists

• Assist with accommodations and modifications outlined in the student's IEP

• Support the student during transitions, activities, and routines to promote independence and engagement

• Monitor student health and safety at all times

• Provide personal care as needed

• Maintain accurate data, notes, and documentation

• Communicate effectively with teachers and support staff

• Provide input to the school team based on daily observations

• Follow all student-specific protocols and confidentiality requirements

• Maintain consistent attendance and reliability

• Participate in training related to the student's specific needs

• Position may require lifting, bending, standing, and assisting with mobility or personal care
