The Paramedic Program Director is responsible for developing the curriculum and associated syllabi and competencies to create a Paramedic training program. This curriculum should meet the requirements for securing and subsequently maintaining accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The Paramedic Program Director's primary role will initially consist of all facets of program development and the achievement of program accreditation, including, but not limited to, course and program development, staffing, overseeing the setup of a physical space for the Program, and establishing an admissions process and criteria. Once the program enrolls students, the Director role shifts to attaining educational goals and objectives; managing the day-to-day operations of the Program; ensuring Program compliance with all State, National, and College standards; formulating strategies to enhance student success; supervising and mentoring faculty and instructional staff; providing student guidance and appropriate referrals; and generating periodic assessment reports, among additional duties.

Staff Duration: Full Time 12 months

  1. 1. Provide leadership for the administration, organization, and supervision of the Paramedicprogram.
  2. 2. Ensure the curriculum meets all applicable state regulations and national standards,including the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards.
  3. 3. Oversee program planning, development, and evaluation, including continuous qualityimprovement processes.
  4. 4. Recruit, select, orient, and support instructional staff and clinical/capstone preceptors.
  5. 5. Supervise the student application and admissions process.
  6. 6. Evaluate instructional delivery and the administration of exams to ensure academicquality.
  7. 7. Serve as the primary contact with the Department of Health and other regulatoryagencies.
  8. 8. Act as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff, fostering communication andresolving concerns.
  9. 9. Ensure program operations remain in compliance with New Jersey Administrative Codeand CAAHEP accreditation standards.
  10. 10. Lead the program’s quality assurance efforts and contribute to strategic planning andinstitutional effectiveness.
  1. Bachelor’s degree in EMS, education, or a health-related field from an accredited institution.
  2. Documented education or experience in instructional methodology and curriculumdevelopment.
  3. Paramedic-level training and experience in the delivery of prehospital emergency care.
  4. Knowledge of the current National EMS Scope of Practice and EMS EducationStandards.
  5. Demonstrated ability to manage academic programs and lead diverse teams.
  1. Master’s degree in EMS, education, or a health-related field.
  2. Experience in program accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  3. Prior experience in managing clinical education sites and supervising preceptors
