Paralegal Position in Washington DC AreaLeidos is seeking Paralegals located in the Washington DC area. You will work in a fast-paced and diverse environment assisting the program and management team with workflows for electronic case filings (ECF).Be part of a dynamic team in providing legal and technical services to support the Division of Offices, Boards and Divisions at the Department of Justice. In this role, you will gain skills, such as time and task management, critical thinking and problem solving, and the ability to communicate complicated problems in a concise manner.Works under the direction of a Project Supervisor or Task Supervisor. Performs the following moderately complex tasks while complying with established procedures:Downloads electronic case filings (ECFs) from PacerUploads the electronic case filings to the automated matters systemsEnters filing information into a case tracking systemCreates and provides links to the electronic case filings to the DOJ AttorneysResponds to DOJ attorney requests for filing information and retrievalCompiles, prepares, and summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents.Conducts simple to moderately complex database searchesPerforms simple legal researchIndexes, tracks and controls document discovery, depositions, and trial.Prepares exhibit cross-references.Assists attorneys in courtroom.Basic Qualifications:Requires paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.

One (1) year of legal training or legal experience or at least two (2) years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate.At least one (1) year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience related to electronic case filing workflows.Basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum.Experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Trial experienceAutomated litigation support experience valued.Prior experience working in a Federal Government environmentThis position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements.
