ParalegalParalegal enables the delivery of quality legal services to clients by partnering with attorneys and legal operations in performing a wide variety of tasks relating to the department's support of all business functions. The Paralegal will be responsible for providing analytical, technical, and certain administrative support to James Hardie's Legal and Compliance Department, including case management, participation in global legal practice groups, administering and improving legal department technology, partnering with legal operations in the implementation of legal policies and procedures. In addition, incumbent will manage and work with internal and external business partners on various legal and compliance related matters.What You'll Do:Apply and demonstrate skills in litigation and dispute support including but not limited to: matter management; docketing; communications to internal and external stakeholders; and management of service of process; serving as liaison between outside counsel, experts or other stakeholders; coordination of third-party subpoenas and other records collection activitiesSupport in the marketing and IP review processes and systems, including liaising with marketing teams and legal practice groups to ensure policy and process compliance with a continuous improvement mindsetProvide overall and some administrative support to global function including but not limited to: research and writing; word processing and formatting documents; keeping minutes and notes from team and committee meetings; coordinating meetings; and other day to day issues impacting the legal and compliance department, as requiredWhat You'll Bring:At least 5 years' legal assistant or paralegal experience in a corporate in-house capacityA bachelor's degree in business or a related fieldParalegal certification from an ABA accredited school is desired but not requiredExperience in knowledge management, matter, document and entity management systems helpfulKnowledge of corporate governance and compliance functions and processes is helpfulOutstanding organizational skills, interpersonal skills, communication skillsProficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel), and capacity and willingness to learn new softwareAbility to work effectively within a team environment and to work proactivelyHighly detail oriented with an ability to flag issues to attorneys and executive stakeholdersStrong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrentlyAbility to travel an average of <5%What You'll Receive:As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $85,000 to $110,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time.
